fine for short notes, intros, or "we should talk." i don't accept blind connection requests; mention something specific.
what to put in the email.
- who you are. company shape, your role, who else is on the buying side.
- what you're trying to do. in plain language, not in agency-deck words.
- what you've already tried. previous vendors, internal attempts, what didn't work.
- your timeline. "next quarter" or "we have a board meeting in three weeks" both useful.
- your budget shape. not a number, a range. saves both of us a meeting.
what i probably won't reply to.
- cold sales emails for tools, dev agencies, or seo services.
- "can i pick your brain" without context.
- requests for free strategy work disguised as "a quick question."
- recruiters, unless the role is genuinely interesting (rare).
